Newz

Hello one and all,

Just wanted to let you know that we will be going into a proper studio in the beginning of January to record a 5 song EP of new and old songs that will actually be worth the money we'll be charging for it. We appreciate everyone that's bought our self-made CDs at this point, but we've been made well aware that they just don't match up to the mind-melting intensity that is our live show. Behind the boards of the EP will be our good friend Nick Peterson, who helped us make our first EP way back in December. Unfortunately, it was a rushed job and done in one day, resulting in less that wonderful performances (due also to the fact that we'd only been playing together for two months at that point). Our great friend Alex Maiolo, of Violet Vector & The Lovely Lovelies fame, will be joining us for production duties, ensuring that we come out groovy as possible. As of now, this yet-to-be titled EP will feature these five songs, and should be available sometime in the early to mid Spring (around the same time as VVLL's new EP!):

Julia
Blow-Up
See and Be Seen
Changing Ways
She Keeps Moving

You've heard 'em before live, now you'll be able to groove in the convienience of your own home. Also, in live news, remember we'll be playing at Slim's in Raleigh with the infinitely groovy The Magic Babies at 10pm on Friday, December 5th. We also might be doing a New Year's Eve show in Charlotte, NC with our friends The Sammies. Stay tuned...

The Huguenots in the Daily Tar Heel

Before the last show we did, we were interviewed by the Diversions section of the Daily Tar Heel to promote our upcoming show and illustrious reputation. Below is the link to check it out, it features some memorable quotes from your boys, as well as some insights into what makes us tick (or not). Enjoy!

New Song!

Lads and lassies we have a new song posted on our MySpace page, entitled "One Foot In Th' Sea." It's one we've been playing for some time live, but now we bring it to you streaming and (semi-coherently) recorded. We hope you enjoy it, and be aware that we will also be posting a few more new tracks in the coming weeks, with a brand new EP due either by Christmas or early 2009.

Also, thanks to all of you who made it out last Thursday to our show with the Born Ruffians at the Local 506. It was a smashing good time and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Our show with the Sammies on November 14th will be our last Chapel Hill show of 2008 (and it's FREE), so make sure you come out because you won't get another chance til 2009 comes around...

Mark Your Calendars

We have several shows coming up in the North Carolina area, and hopefully one will pique your fancy enough to out and show us some love. As a slight incentive, we will be debuting 3 new songs at these shows, so you might want to to come to just see us butcher them.

October 23rd, 9pm: Local 506 w/ The Born Ruffians and Plants & Animals ($10)
November 14th, 10pm: Local 506 w/ The Sammies and The Magic Babies (FREE!)
November 19th, 10pm: Broad Street Cafe (Durham) w/ The Rosewood Thieves (FREE!)
December 5th, 9pm: Slim's (Raleigh) w/ The Magic Babies (?)

Also, we will be selling the last pressing (we promise...) of our first EP, this final time with a new song, York Howie's "I Got You (In Trouble)," a live staple but as of yet unreleased. New artwork, better track listings, new song! See you soon.

Love,

We'll be competing this Friday in the UNC Vinyl Records showdown, competing against 5 other acts (2 bands, 3 solo artists) for one of two spots on the newly formed Vinyl roster. Please come out and support us and then vote for us (which will be explained at the event) so we can bring you quality recordings. Here are the details:

Friday, September 26th
7pm, Free
UNC Student Union Cabaret (bottom floor)

We're playing for only 20 minutes or so, and there will be more acts, but it'd be great to see all you fine people out in support.
